This classic tomte (Swedish gnome) features a solid wooden frame, a tangled wool cap, and a beard crafted from genuine sheepskins. Each piece is finished with hand-shaped felt details—caps and noses are lovingly formed by hand—creating a rustic, timeless accent perfect for seasonal décor or as a thoughtful gift or housewarming present.

The sheep from the Swedish island of Gotland are unique; their curly wool is transformed using warm water and soap into a dense felt that is then hand shaped into caps and facial details. That same careful craftsmanship gives each tomte a distinctive, tactile character.

Sheepskin is also used to create the beards and hair. In addition to Gotland skins, we source hides from Icelandic sheep, prized for their long, straight fleece and natural variation in texture. The result is an authentic, handcrafted piece that celebrates traditional Scandinavian materials and techniques.
