The Arco Cafe Chair won the prestigious iF Gold Award 2012 for product design and has been hugely successful in its short career – not only within the catering industry but also in many other environments. Jonathan Prestwich and Arco created a modern interpretation of the traditional café chair. This contemporary version has an elastic high-tech woven backrest, which also makes it a very comfortable computer chair. There is now a bar stool version for the café for which the chair was conceived. Yet the potential uses of Cafe Stool extend far beyond the catering industry. It is also functional in the office, at high tables used for brief meetings and at workstations that require alternation between standing and sitting on a high seat.
